After graduating high school, Kay studied Interior Design at Seattle Pacific University and then received her B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Washington. Shortly after graduating from college, Kay got married, moved to Oregon and a year later became a mom. For about the next 10 years, raising her 3 kids, volunteer work and making new houses into a home kept her busy. In 2007, Kay took a job working for a company that worked with Interior Designers all over the country to help them with various business functions. A few years later, she and her family relocated back to Washington and she focused on helping her family through that transition. After going through the process of rebuilding their home & replacing all of their possessions after a house fire, Kay decided she was ready to start helping others create spaces in their homes that worked for their families. Having built most of their homes over the years and working with the restoration team, Kay had learned a lot about what she liked and didn’t like about the remodeling & construction industry. In 2014, she started Alessi Custom Design, LLC, helping clients do everything from remodeling projects big and small to new construction builds and hundreds of renovations…often as simple as a new exterior paint job. Kay also loves furniture & décor and helping clients find the perfect pieces to finish a space or outfitting an entire house and everything in between. One of her favorite things is seeing a space in someone’s home that isn’t working for them and working with the client to re-envision the space. Whether that means tearing down walls or simply changing up the furniture, it’s always incredibly rewarding to make a client’s space function better and bring them joy! Kay splits her time between homes in Issaquah, Washington and Rancho Mirage, California and keeps busy with her main love, which is her family.

Growing up with Kay for a mom, Jordyn gained an early appreciation for the importance of loving your home and making sure it’s a space that meets your needs. Throughout high school and college, Jordyn worked part time for Alessi Custom Design. During that time, she completed training through the Interior Design Institute to educate herself about the industry. While she enjoyed Interior Design, she had always envisioned herself becoming a teacher. Jordyn graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Early Childhood and Family Studies. She then went on to get her Master’s in Teaching from Seattle Pacific University. After teaching 4th grade for a few years, she realized how much she missed working with Alessi Custom Design; in 2023, she decided to leave teaching so she could work with Alessi Custom Design full time. Jordyn loves collaborating with clients to help furnish their space and will be working to add to the various lines that Alessi Custom Design offers. She also brings her organization skills to help manage our projects and keep things running smoothly. Jordyn's long-term plan is to open a retail space to further help clients with furnishings & décor as well as offer a design studio for remodeling and construction projects. In the meantime, Jordyn will be busy getting the retail side of our website up and running with tons of great furnishings & décor for your home. Jordyn lives in Issaquah, Washington and enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as traveling to California as much as possible!
